Description: The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) Capital Awards is a gala event which brings together more than 800 elected and appointed officials, Hispanic leaders, community activists, executives from Fortune 500 companies, philanthropic leaders, and scholars to honor members of Congress from both sides of the aisle for their outstanding support of public policies that are vital to Hispanic Americans. In addition, the Public Service Award honors others outside of Washington who courageously and tirelessly advocate on behalf of the Latino community.

Description: The 36th Annual National Convention in March 2010 would be the first NSBE convention ever held outside of the United States.  The annual convention targets its diverse membership through core collegiate programmatic offerings, a pre-college initiative (PCI) conference, a technical professional conference (TPC), and a graduate school conference (GSC).

The theme has been set to enlighten Engineers and people of color to look back, regroup, and reorganize while continuing efforts to advance in this highly competitive academic and professional world.

Description: Founded in 1976, the association provides information on the broadcast industry and the Federal Communications Commission to both the general public and to its 250 members.  It lobbies government bodies and provides legal and research facilities for its membership.
